How I identified the seven powers
It started with chakras
A chakra is a meditation aid in the form of a psychic or psychospiritual energy centre in the subtle body, as visualised in a variety of Hindu and Buddhist tantric yoga and meditation practices. Esoteric traditions in Hinduism mention numerous numbers and arrangements of chakras.
The concept of a set of seven chakras came to the West in the 1880s. While interpretations abound, the one appearing below is widely recognised.
7. Crown Chakra
Location: Top of the head.
Associated with higher consciousness, awareness and spiritual enlightenment.
6. Third Eye Chakra
Location: Forehead, between the eyes.
Associated with intuition, imagination and spiritual awareness.
5. Throat Chakra
Location: Throat.
Associated with communication and self-expression.
4. Heart Chakra
Location: Center of the chest.
Associated with love, compassion and emotional healing.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra
Location: Upper abdomen.
Associated with self-esteem, confidence and personal power.
2. Sacral Chakra
Location: Lower abdomen.
Associated with pleasure, creativity and emotional balance.
1. Root Chakra
Location: Base of the spine.
Associated with: Security, stability and grounding.
I neither know nor care if chakras really exist, and treat the chakra system as a practical metaphor.

Enter the angels
Talking with Angels is a collection of esoteric oral teachings voiced by Hanna Dallos in Hungary during World War II and transcribed by Gitta Mallasz.
The book, which is one of my treasured possessions, includes the “seven souls” diagram displayed below.Talking with Angels is the true story of four young Hungarians in search of inner meaning at a time of outer upheaval, the holocaust. In the darkest hours of World War II, these friends, three of them Jewish, seek orientation and meaning in their shattered lives. During seventeen perilous months, one of them, Hanna Dallos, delivers oral messages which Gitta Mallasz and Lili Strausz record in their notebooks. These teachings end abruptly with the deportation of Hanna and Lili to Ravensbrück in December of 1944. Only Gitta Mallasz survived to bring their story and these remarkable dialogues to the world. She always rejected any notion of authorship for this book, saying, ‘I am merely the scribe of the Angels.’”

Seven souls meet seven chakras
In the next image you can see how I connected the “seven souls” to the seven chakras.
Note that I’ve reassigned the second chakra to the PC (pubococcygeal or pelvic floor) muscles. These are the ones we use to control the flow of urine. My reasoning goes like this:
The PC muscles as proxies for the reproductive organs, which I consider the true (although metaphorical, paradoxically) location of the second chakra.
The PC muscles are easier to locate than the sacrum.
The sacrum and the tailbone (coccyx) are hard to differentiate.
Chakras reinterpreted
I reinterpreted the chakras as a set of seven powers.
The work required to fully understand the function of each power was carried out over the course of several years. I consulted multiple sources, engaged in much deliberation and produced many iterations before settling on the labels and descriptions appearing in the table below.

1. As already stated, the mythical ‘third eye’ is located between the eyebrows, and the PC muscles are the ones we use to control urine flow.
2. The new creation might be a product, a service, a facility or another form of value generator. When undertaking change or problem solving work, the desired state of affairs is the creation, which is brought into existence by means of an intervention or some other course of action.
